Jahan- Nama Protected Area

Covering an area of more than 30000 hectares from south east of Kordkuy township to south east of Gorgan, Jahan-Nama has a height of between 600 to 3086 meters above the sea.
There are old summer resort villages in this area which among them we can mention Kafshgiri and Sa'd Abaad.Kafshgiri Mahalleh and S'ad Abaad Mahalleh in north west of Jahan-Nama still owns houses with traditional architecture view.
.There are many ancient relics in Hajiabaad, Chaharbagh, Shahkooh, Chaman Savar, Ziarat and other areas in Jahan-Nama protected area.
Also, the existence of the 35-meter Radkan tower in the suburbs has doubled its tourism value in this region.
This region located in the south of Kordkuy township is said to be the tomb of Abu ja'far Muhammad Ebn e Vandorin Bavandi-one of the princes of Tabarestan Bavandi dynasty.
Regarding Geographical features, most of the area is mountainous and its height is from 600 meter in northern border of Shast-Kola to 3085 meter in Talanbar Mountain in east of the region and the south of Ziarat village.
The famous mountains in this region are Dokali in the west, Shahpasand, Kalet and Chelestan in the centre, Zebleh, Talanbar and Landehkooh in the east.
Despite being mountainous, this region owns lots of springs such as Nokhod Cheshmeh,Sorkh Cheshmeh,Pirezan Cheshmeh, Sharbat, Toolboneh, Sooteh,Mazokesh,Emamverdi Chaharsara,springs around Haji Abaad and mineral warm water spring of Ziarat.
There are also rivers flowing in this area which among them is Chahar Bagh in west which enters Mazandaran Province from where Radkan is located.
Sefid Darreh seasonal river also exists in the centre of this region.
The waterfall of Ziarat is located about 5 km north east of Ziarat village.
In Iran's plant geography taxonomy, Jahan-Nama is among Hirkan minor part which has covered the country's north forests.
The region's plant cover includes broad-leaved tree, shrub, and bush.
The most important plant species are Taxus baccata, Junipers, Beech, Hornbeam, Blackthorn, Barberry, Zelkova Carpinifolia, Willow, Tilia, Borage, Alfalfa, Dandelion, Salvia, and Sainfoin.
Due to its special conditions, this region has wealthy wildlife including rare and endangered species .The most important species are Brown Bear, Red Deer, Fox, Roe Deer, Wild Pig, Jungle Cat, Caracal and Tiger.
The existence of native and peregrine birds is another beauty of the region. These birds include Kestrel, Eagle, Buzzard, Sparrow hawk, Partridge, See-see Partridge, Quail, Pheasant, Vulture, Lammergeyer, Wood Pigeon, Falcon, and Toucan.
