Photographer's Note

We are in Rhineland-Westphalia, a few kilometers from Frankfurt.
The river that appears is the Rhine. Who crosses the Rhine, sees a splendid landscape, with the slopes covered with vineyards lined very orderly. Another feature are the numerous castles to remember many stories of old. In the picture we see an example, with a castle on the other side, the Ehrenfels Castle ...

On an island in Reno, we see the famous Tower of the Rats! It was erected in the 14th century to strengthen border control exercised by another castle Ehrenfels.
It has 24.5 meters high, is plastered and painted white. Currently serves as a Lighthouse for navigation on the Rhine. In 2002 it was declared Cultural Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley.

A legend says that a bishop too bad, stole the poor, and a tragedy was devoured by thousands of rats ...

If you visit this area of Germany, you will can make a lovely boat trip of several hours where you can enjoy these, and many more beauties ...

Cheers, and good pictures
