The Strait of Balos, a photo from Hania, Crete

Photographer's Note

I have already uploaded 8 or 9 photos from the same place in the past, but Balos is one of my very favourite place in "my" island, Crete, so I hope that I will be excused.

A vertical "version" of this photo, is the cover photo of the 15th edition of "Explore Nature" magazine that goes public as a suplement of "Ethnos" daily national newspaper tomorrow, Saturday 20 of May (***CHECK WORKSHOP*** ).

A stunning place ! I understand why you love it . It looks like a lagoon , with the almost pink sand , and the emerald sea . I like the people on the beach , like little ants .

What a super shot. Were you up on a mountainside or in a helicopter? Regardless the composition is really nice with the water course on the diagonal.

I really like this image, your use of the green space (form) and balance, the colors are very expressive and somehow work as a simple but interesting image... the only quibble is that zoom lenses create a glow (chromatic aberration) around dark elements... all the people have a glow which is a an irritating result of too much glass in the lens... it can be meticulously remove in photoshop but what a pain... there is a lot of jpeg artifacts also....
