Photographer's Note

Amsterdam, OBA.

Amsterdam, OBA.
today I met Burcu (burGu) hier in Amsterdam and we went to the OBA. I was hoping we could see the city form above but unfortunately the roof terrace was closed - so I ended up taking pictures inside (again). I had my new lens with me (180mm) and because the light was insufficient, I had to increase the ISO. later I added more noise to the image, to make it look more like "the real thing" - digital noise is often so predictable you can tell from a distance that it's fake.
the OBA has a few pianos at disposal of experienced players - if you're skilled enough, you can play for 30 minutes.
this gentleman was a truly good player - don't be fooled by his expression or age: his hands were elegant and light on the keys, his music a flow of Gershwin and Porter... don't believe your eyes, believe your ears.
