Photographer's Note

Monument #5 from San Lorenzo is 1.86 metres in height, 1.47 metres wide, and 1.15 metres in depth. It weighs 10.5 tonnes. This replica was photographed at the Archaeological Park, Chankanaab Lagoon, on the Island of Cozumel. The original may be seen in Xalapa, at the Museum of Anthropology. The man-made plateau of San Lorenzo is about 1,200 metres in length from north to south. Several hundred mounds were found along this axis, grouped so as to form rectangular courts surrounded by pyramidal structures. Additionally, a system of conduits was found underground, made of stones hollowed out in the form of a "U" and carefully fitted together.
