Photographer's Note

Lake O'Hara, in Yoho National Park. I've been to this place several times now, and I'm always amazed by how clear and clean the water is, which is what I was trying to capture with this shot. The colour of the lake is pretty nice too, light blue/green water from the glacier runoff.

Lake O'Hara has restricted access, which means you need to reserve a place on the bus that takes visitors up the 15 km access road. They try to keep the visitors to a minimum in order to preserve the wildness and natural beauty of the area. Other nearby lakes (like Lake Louise and Moraine Lake) have no restrictions, however, Lake O'Hara may be the most beautiful of them all, and is well worth the effort to arrange a visit. For information on how to make a reservation (way too long for me to repeat here) go to the Parks Canada website and look under Yoho National Park.
