Photographer's Note
My second photo of the TE meeting in Vancouver BC at the waterfront at Stanely Park. Here is how this photo was captured.
There were five Canon fans who comfortably walked on the walkway sidewalk. I noticed that Alvin Brown ventured out into the mud to compose some photos. One of his photos can be seen here.
What I managed to do was sneak up on Alvin while he was in his shooting zone. I had to be careful to make sure that the rising sunlight was hidden behind his head. No filter, just making sure no direct sunlight was shining into the camera. One full stop below exposure setting to offset the bright sunlight on the horizon. Here's to you Alvin Brown, Mr Cormac. Keep shooting with that awesome D200!

Well, I knew this was coming! I didn't know I looked so goofy when I'm shooting, thanks for showing me. It's actually a nice shot, and one that I'm going to keep. I'm surprised at all the detail you got in the foreground and buildings, that underexposure sure worked well. I should let you know that I've got a couple of shots of you that I'm going to post too, so be prepared!

Well a Nikon, that would explain the saintly glow...
Ugh, I could feel the cringe. As such, it is well done friend. It is one of the best moments when shooting with friends; trying to capture them in action. My neighbor recently posted a shot of myself hunkered down to take a shot. Here the exposure looks great, keeping good details in the building behind.
Regards,
Chris.

Hello Paul,
Great shot! I love how you captured Alvin in action. The play between his shadow and the sunlight on the foreground is amazing! The details in this photo are also fantastic. Great composition and excellent lighting, Paul!
Greetings,
Ann
PS: Thank goodness I wasn't there with my SONY..hehe, I'd be totally out of place with my none SLR camera. I am not that great at city photos. The Rockies are my thing, I guess! TAKE CARE!

Hi Paul. Alvin was nice enough to block a lot of that lens flare for you! It's funny how different the pictures turned out with such a small difference in POV. Beautiful shot Paul.

Who said that you're a nature photographer.
If you're good - you're good.
If you're great - you're great.
Regardles of situation. Regardles of popular schemes.
My hat off to you, Paul.
All the Christmas' best for you and your dearest.
Stay as good as you are...
