Photographer's Note

This is a scene from the highway travelling north from Vancouver to the ski resort of Whister (site of the 2010 Winter Olympics). The body of water is Howe Sound, a fiord formed by glaciers in the last ice age. The whole coast around Vancouver riddled with fiords, lined with steep mountains and tall trees.

I used a graduated ND filter to take this, and then underexposed by about 2 stops to preserve the highlights. I then lightened the rest of the photo in PS. It looks a little noisy, but this is a new experiment for me and I may have to fine tune my processing.
