Photographer's Note
Metric (lead singer and half-godess Emily Haines ;) ) during a show in Quebec city during the Festival d'été de Quebec at the Impérial de Québec. Metric is a Canadian indie rock band.
Please, don't tell me it's grainy/noisy, sometimes iso3200 will do this. Besides, I like the grain.
I have a different shot in the ws and I had a hard time which one I should upload. Which one do you prefer?

Un flou d'arrière plan léger me plait beaucoup.

The initial response was..kev's back with another from the shows..and no it reads manamo...( what does manamo represent..if i may..am curious now )
about the shot..the enerrgy..he seems glistening with a break of sweat..that is enough to make the shot pulsating..i prefer this version definitely..perhaps too heavy to the left..her motion to the left accentuates the momentum of my eyes..pushes the faces further left..haha..that ok..i am still looking at the frame..and i like it Marc
More from this series..

Salut Marc, the Nikon's coped well with an ISO of 3200 and I LIKE the grain anyways. It gives the photo - and the subject a bit more gutz and grit. B&W was a great choice, both your original and WS are worthy of individual posts, but if pressed, I prefer the one you posted. You've really captured this amazing lady's personality well (the ruffled hair in the WS is a winner too). TFS and enjoy your weekend, Lisa.

Bonsoir Marc,
compliments

Hello Marc,
Music theme is my favourite one thus I can only say I like this dynamic photo very much. The girl is looking like Madonna indeed, the same energy and passion and you have captured it perfectly.

Olá Marc, can I choose both of them? :) Ok, after seeing one and another more than 10 times, I choose the ws. It's more clean, love all the space around to free that flying hair. And she's looking straight at you, I mean, she's 'talking' to us. Yes, it's not so evident at first but it's a stronger image for me. The symetry of her arms is also great...notice also the thing on her wrist matching the sleeves(?) of her dress.
btw, I like the grain too :) iso3200? I'd like to have that on my camera.
The first page of your gallery looks so good... ;-)
take care,

I was browsing through your gallery and found a lot of great, interesting photos - I remembered your photo of Riomaggiore, a favourite place of mine, but as I can see your genres vary (a good thing) and you're not only a travel photographer of places :)
I picked this one because I like the energy it transmits and because I suck at stage/live pictures :)
I don't know if the grain comes from the high ISO only or if you added some more, or if you converted into b/w to give the grain the better-looking monochrome look - fact is, I really like her expression, the sweaty hair, the frozen moment of singing...
I like the workshop, too - I am glad they're not my photos, I would have had a hard time choosing the one to post :)
have a good evening!
