Photographer's Note

Here is a replica of Easter Island head in the forest of British Columbia.
The artist has at least two of these in his yard.
Most people stop on a sunny afternoon to take this photo, but I wanted something more, so I came in the dark, set the tripod and camera to "bulb", then waited 10 minutes for the sensor to gather light from the sky.
In that time, a few cars whizzed by, their headlamps giving brief glow to the head and fence.
The pink streaks are moving clouds.
The star in upper right is Polaris, which doesn't move as it is aligned with Earth's axis.
