Photographer's Note
St. Jude’s Church was erected in 1848 by the Rev. William Stewart Darling and the Anglican families of the Wexford area (a quiet farming area which was incorporated first into Scarborough in the 1950’s and then into Metropolitan Toronto). The church is perfect scale model of the minister’s home church in England and is now the oldest surviving Anglican church building in Scarborough.

Hello Silke,
I can see you're blessed with great photo weather these days!
Lovely composition with the little church, framed by the naked trees and the tombstones...
Very fine details, strong vivid colours!
Greetings,

Great light here Silke, and I like the way the shadows break up the snowy foreground.
The composition is good, and you controlled the light very well here.
Good work.
Cheers,
Ben

Hi Silke
Picture perfect. Nice pov and dof, great contrasting colors. The appartment building on the left is a bit annoying.

Near perfect capture! I would have been tempted to get rid of the ugly brown "downtown" office... ;)
I love the crips clean lines and the excellent contrast...
Reminds a lil of the fishplant on Willow Rd. Tfs. J.
PS Great find, well spotted.

Hi Silke,
To me this beautiful little church looks quite typically American. But maybe they were those days like that in England too. Good angle, lovely sunshine. Is the spire really a bit tilted or is it a lens distortion?

Hi Silke,
The eclatant white of the church fits well together with the eclatant white of the snow, with all these whites in the frame the photo gets very luminous.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Silke
A fantastic winterscape, with superb sharpness & excellent graphism of the dark steeple, against the blue sky. Tfs!

Hi Silke. A lovely 'christmas card' sort of shot, with excellent colour and exposure of the snow. The composition is superb, with the gravestones in the foreground and the winter trees making a frame. I've seen no snow since coming to Europe, and not likely to now, with the current forecast! Anyway, marvellous picture.

Andrew

Nice composition, Silke, I like the low POV. It emphasizes the headstones, which with the dormant trees and snow create a bleak mood, but the steeple points to the sky for inspiration. You might crop off just a bit from the bottom, where it's blank, but the composition is fine overall. Regards, Ken.

Hej Silke,
Lovely view of this nice little church. The snow and sunlight give a wonderful atmosphere to the view. The trees on both sides of the church work well too. Good work!

Hello Silke,
Lovely photo of this church. I really like the detail in the foreground and the nice colors. I allso like the composition. The corner of the brick building is a little bit of a minus, but I don't care. Great shot. TFS.

Hi Silke,
Beautiful clean striking colors and sharp details to this churchyard in the snow. The tree and church steeple look very impressive against this vibrant blue sky.

Hello Silke. Much can be photographed in the winter better, because the trees do not carry leaves. So also this small and modest church. Photo and text complement each other very well. Well composes and very beautifully. Best regards, Wolfgang.

This is a truly lovely photo of this black and white church, in the middle of a cemetery covered in snow.
The framing of the trees against the blue sky makes it just pefect.
I would love to see a picture of it in Spring or in Summer.
A good day to you!
Marie Louise.
