Photographer's Note
Tonight's windchill is expected to be minus 37 degrees.
I wonder whether the saying is true that March either comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb or comes in like a lamb and goes out like a lion?
If it is true, then Easter week will be a real joy!
The photo was taken at the Rex Jazz and Blues Bar and brings to mind the following song by Frank Loesser:
(the first halves of the lines are sung by a woman and the second by a man)
I really can't stay - Baby it's cold outside
I've got to go away - Baby it's cold outside
This evening has been - Been hoping that you'd drop in
So very nice - I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice
My mother will start to worry - Beautiful, what's your hurry
My father will be pacing the floor - Listen to the fireplace roar
So really I'd better scurry - Beautiful, please don't hurry
Well, maybe just a half a drink more - Put some music on while I pour
... ... ...

Hi Silke,
it really looks cold!
;-D
These guys were obviously not expected to be
confronted with your 200mm, hence the surprising
look on their faces!
Interesting three-part composition and black
framing.

Hello Silke,
You caught these kids very nicely in a candid moment. Their breath conveys the feeling of icy winter better than actual scene with white stuff. I also admire the exposure control here, which is definitely not trivial. Very well done.
Best wishes,
Hakan

Hi Silke
Tell me about it. I had to walk home through the snow yesterday, & today was more reminiscent of January, with Arctic winds straight from Siberia! I like the vertical division into thirds & the misty breath. Tfs!

Hello Silke
37 below? Sounds refreshing!
This is an interesting photo moment, where these people you knew? They seem to fit perfectly into thiscold door enviroment!
Composition is interesting, for the most part I would say it is a little too centered to my liking but then again... The doors really create an interesting framing and...well... these two people aren't exactly symmetrical so I guess it works.
The best cold impression I see here is the great way you have managed to capture their cold breaths.
Thank you for sharing.

Hello Silke. Baby, It's Cold Outside. An unusual everyday life photo. Two young women enter the area. Cold weather outside lets the breath freeze. Both see the camera and are surprised. It is a daring shot. With your text you added the photo poetry. Thus it gets a new identity. For me it is a very beautiful and alive photo. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Quick!!! Shut the door!
For baby hey - Baby it's cold today...
And frankly the cold should stay
outside...........!!!
Wonderful way you capture the essence of this recent event,
where literally the Arctic has given us "the finger"...
As I write this we are feeling its chilling effect in NS.
I hardly feel like thanking you for the chills
that run at opening this photo ;) But tfs! Jay
PS -18C before windchill on the Atlantic shore is CÖLD...

Their foggy breath and super-warm gloves make it clear what the situation is in this scene, Silke, and that's why this one works well. I'll bet they were glad to get inside, and you were glad you already were! Regards, Ken.

Hi Silke, great capture of these two seeking warmth. They probably didn't expect to run into a camera lens, then again they probably don't care either, as long as they're heading to warmth.
Thanks, John

Hi Silke,
Excellent decisive moment shot. Good composition with bar like window frames. Contrasty light, steaming breath and expression showing some kind of agony give a good idea of coldness.
