Photographer's Note
I woke up this morning to snow so thick that I could barely see the houses across the street! As soon as it stopped I leashed the dog, slung my new D70S around my neck and headed out before the lovely white stuff got ploughed away!
This line of trees stands behind the parking lot of the apartment building next door.
It was already so naturally black and white that I simply completely desaturated and resized. Hope you like the result
Thanks for visiting.

nice!
I like the mood here.
I have a doubt, it's noise or snow in the sky?

Hi Silke,
A nice winter scenery, the black and white is showing a lot of details. The photo has a good composition and DOF. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Silke,
I assume the "noise" is snow .. well now I read your comment .. was it really that dark?
love the trees .. but it is their shadows that really draw my attention ...I like the line of trees and how the foreground leafless tree is echoed by the distant ones .. I think I would zap the noise .. I think it would help the leafless trees standing against it.
still wonderful image.
take care,
John

Hello Silke,
Some parts of Norway have had that kind of snowfall too, happily not in my place!
The atmosphere looks like peaceful, but the consequences can be fatal...
It is a well composed photographic report!

Hi Silke
It looks like a Christmas card! I like the symmetry of the 2 pine trees & minimalist tonal range. Perhaps I'd try some gaussian blur to the sky. Tfs!

Hi Silke,
Beautiful Black&White. Yes, the snow works well highlighting the scenery, especially on the trees. This might look nice also if toned slightly towards blue.

Hi Silke. This is a classic for a Christmas card. Very well arranged and presented. The cropping is the key point with something like this and you have handled it well. TFS. Murray.

Hi Silke,
It does look like genuine winter, something we're learning to forget about...
Even if there was noise added to the snow, the BW works well in melting them together in this moody image.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

beautiful Silke! Looks like you got more snow then we did down on the lakeshore. Course it just blows away here though!
I really like the color of this, and its so very peaceful. Great shot. TFS

I see you've been busy while I've been away, Silke!
This is my favourite of your recent shots, very atmospheric.
I imagine you took this at quite a high ISO setting judging by the noise visible in the sky, or perhaps you added grain in PP? Either way it works well here, giving the image a filmic quality and adding to the atmosphere.
I like it.
Cheers,
Ben
