Photographer's Note
This summer, on my way to Bangkok, I had a one day's stopover in Dubai. I arrived late at night and the temperature at midnight was 36 degrees celsius, too hot for a usually frozen Norwegian. Couchsurfing had secured me a good night's sleep in Sjarjah, the neighboring emirate, and the next morning I was ready to explore as much as possible in one day. I started by visiting Mall of Dubai and Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building. Then I met a friend and we went to Mall of Emirates and had a boat ride near Burj Al Arab, the only seven star hotel in the world.
It was in the middle of ramadan, so it was illegal to eat or drink in public during the day, despite temperatures of 43 degrees. This photo was taken at the observation deck of Burj Khalifa and shows the view towards the central Dubai. It is a city in enormous growth and new buildings are being built all over the city. The dust from the desert reduced the view a little bit, but it was still a worthwhile experience.

Hej Frederik.
Wow for a spectacular picture!! This is really the urban landscape. The broad lines made by the roads are grahhically super nice... especially the curved one to the right. The skyscrapers are great, too. I like how the dust gets thicher andd thicker as we approach the horizon in the desert.
Top shot. And fantastic POV.
Cheers Frank

Hi Fredrik,
Wonderful shot oozing with modernity, a good image of a city on the race to be known as one of the best in terms of towering skyscrapers. Nice shot!
