Photographer's Note
I was really lucky to find a fine layer of snow on the ground on my first morning in Capadocia. Afterwards it rained :(.
Here we can see a clear view from Uchisar across the valley up to a volcanic mountain which I think is called Erciyes Dagh (anyone who can confirm the name I would appreciate it).
Capadocia is a region with many valleys shaped by erosion and volcanic explosions giving it an unreal moonlike feeling. There are several man made caves and churches inside many of these geological formations.

Hi Daniel,
Looks unreal this place. Yellowish colour of the rocks matches the blue of the distant volcano. It's a shame there is no eye-catching bright red spot (like that bush in the middle, for example).
Congratulations!

Hi Daniel,
nice composition with the mountain in the background and the strange land in the foreground. The snow is here to add even more contrast to the forms of this region.

Hello Daniel. It's good to see these weird rock formations with snow on them. I think every other picture I've seen of them is under the hot summer sun. I like the building in the foreground showing how rooms are carved out of the rock. The mountain makes for a great backdrop.

Magnificent shot with the snow on the formations. Great angle at the same time looking down on the buildings but up to the mountain. Well contrasted.

This is such a strange photo! Your choice of deep DOF is excellent. Creates a weird illusion that this is very flat. Almost like we are looking at a cross section of the earth and everything below the trees is underground! lol. I hope you understand what I mean. Really cool shot. Great composition. JP

Cool place. You stated before it was a naturally made fomation, but was it used by humans for living? I see doors and windows in the rock. I suppose that here must be a labyrinth of tunnels there. man, I love exploring those kinds of places. In Poland when I was a kid my favorite thing was to explore the old WWII bunkers that were left behind. Im sure Id try to go into the tunnels in this place too.
I really like the colors here Daniel as well as the curvy lines. This place strikes me to have a feminine feel, even the name sounds feminine. Must be all those soft curves.

Bonjour Daniel,
You have a very nice gallery!
I've been to Turkey, this summer and found this wonderful place, where I spent a week walking along this valleys.
Anyway, I have to say that I'm really impressed with this one!
I didn't know there was already snow in the begining of November. The composition is superb and the snow works very well with it. The POV is very good with the sight of the trees in midle plan and mount Erciyes in the background (I think I never saw it...), wich is also impressive, because it's really far away. Also the sight of the valley with that church (or just old houses...) downthere and the trees in foreground is marvellous. Very good colours and lighting! Congratulations!
Thanks for visiting,
Amitiés,
Ricardo

Salut Daniel
Cette photo est une vraie peinture. Pour le volcan c'est (trouvé sur le net et vérifié avec Google Earth :
The massive, eroded stratovolcano Erciyes Dagi at the northern end of the Sultansazligi Basin in central Anatolia covers an area of about 1300 sq km. Growth of the modern volcano began about 0.9 million years ago, following Pliocene caldera collapse of the Kocdag complex. Numerous parasitic cones and lava domes are found mostly on the north flank of the modern edifice, many along radial fissures. The youngest dated rock was from an 83,000-year-old dacitic lava flow, but rhyodacitic eruptions and lava dome growth occurred later at the Perikartin dome. The latest documented event is an edifice-collapse that produced a large debris avalanche that extended to the east. Uncertainty remains regarding reported historical eruptions of Erciyes Dagi and their possible depiction on Roman Cappadocian coins. Historical counts possibly referring to eruptions could also be attributed to methane releases from a swamp in the

Bonjour Daniel
tres belle image

It looks beautiful. Gently colours of the rocks covered with tinny layer of snow. And the row of trees demarcates the mountain in the backgraund from the fairy-tale land underneath.

Random browsing can really lead to some magnificent finds such as this one. I've never been to that part of the world so it's wonderful to see it through your eyes. It is such a weird looking place, like sand castles dripped through your hands at the beach and the contrast of the mountains in the background that look like they were tagged on as an afterthought. The color and sharpness are great. Very interesting indeed.
