Photographer's Note

The Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, or simply Atatürk Commemoration (Atatürk'ü Anma) or Youth and Sports Day (Gençlik ve Spor Bayramı), is an annual Turkish national holiday celebrated on May 19 to memorialize the start of the Turkish War of Independence. May 19, 1919 is the day Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, then Mustafa Kemal, who would become independent Turkey's first president, landed on the main peninsula of Turkey to begin leadership of the liberation effort.

Bugün Yüce Milletimiz için önem arz eden bir gün.Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Devleti'nin temelinin atıldığı,Kurtuluş savaşının başladığı gün kabul edilir.Gençliğin ve Spor'un bayramı olan bu gün,aynı zamanda Atatürk'ümüzü anma günü olarak da kutlanır.

Hi Yagmur;

Not a bad shot in terms of composition and sharpness- but you have clipped all the highlights. The bright white sunny clouds have turned out very muted (almost grey). Open this shot in Photoshop and look at levels and I'm sure you'll see what I mean. I'll post a workshop when I get home...

mi piace questa immagine piena di vita, arricchita dalla cornice naturale data dai muri laterali.
Il cielo è molto compositivo e la scelta del verticale, contribuisce ad ottenere una maggiore vista della scena, facendo quindi ottenere un buon DOF.

That's a pretty interesting picture, with a unique composition and pretty eye-catching results!
The vertical format and the pov were very well chosen too!
Sharpness, exposure and depth of field are excellent!
You had a great idea and your were totally successful with this image! Lots of beautiful architectural shapes, with a nice graphism! It's also very lively with all those people enjoying the moment!

Excellent photo, ideal for this special day for all Turks! Excellent composition and framing, multiple layers of interest! The light managment is good, but I would prefer it a little bit brighter and with slightly more contrast! Either way, the photo is impressive! Congratulations!

Youve managed the light well from inside..tried a natural frame..to add to the flavour if this historic place..love the overall saturatio..soft and neat..

La perspectiva es original, recogiendo todo el ambiente,
buenos colores, la luz no es optima y la adaptación del WS, es bueno, corrigiendo esa luz, las nubes son increible, lástima de la luz! Bien visto!

A very well composed and nicely framed pictured. The many people on the square and on the steps are extra value to the picture. The sky is also very beautiful.

Very nice angle. I like how you've used the columns to create a sort of natural frame. The sky really looks magnificent, thanks in part to a polarizer I suppose. Sharpness and contrast are both perfect as well. My only point of criticism might be that there almost appears to be a bit of a grey vail over the picture...but I see you've already corrected that in the workshop version.

Hi,

I like the way you framed the picture using this door as it opens the perspective to this nice square from a more intimate POV.The light was nice and the blue sky was perfect to contrast with the monuments. I would preffer the scene without the man in blue shirt standing almost in the middle as I feel he does not add to the compo, but rather block the view...
