Photographer's Note

Dear TE Friends, today is a big Muslim feast - the Festival of Sacrifice. The Sacrifice reffers to the common story of Abraham-Ibrahim's obedience to God to sacrifice his son and God's rejection of human sacrifice in the last moment. Arabs call it Eid al-Adha and my Turkish komsular (neighbours) call it Kurban-Bairam.

I hope that all of us the non-Muslims wish our Muslim friends all the good things, rich and happy lives, and a lot of health.

My today's post is of the famous Istanbul landmark - the Blue Mosque or Sultan Ahmet Cami, built in the perioud between 1609-1616, which interior I've posted in my previous upload

With this mosque photo let's virtually pay the traditional visit between neighbours on this day, share their prayers and taste their udhiya or kurbani (the sacrificed animal meat):-))
