Photographer's Note

The Sokollu Mehmed Pasa Mosque is located along the shores of the Golden Horn, at the foot of the Unkapani Bridge, in Azapkapi, Istanbul. It was originally commissioned by Sokollu Mehmed, the Grand Vizier of Suleyman the Magnificent and Selim the Second, and was constructed by Mimar Sinan from 1577 - 1578 (985 AH). It is also known as the "Azapkapi," after the name of the gate in the Galata City Walls, formerly called "Porta di Sant' Antonio". Scholars believe that the mosque could have been commissioned by the wife of the Grand Vizier Sokollu Mehmed and daughter of Selim Khan, Ismihan Sultan.

Great picture!
The timing is perfect to get the good gesture at the right moment.
The silhouette against this oranged sky is marvelous. All becomes magical under such a light... Not sure that you would have noticed this worker without this elegant back light ^^

Bu da muhtesem bir fotograf. Altin kaplanmis bir kubbe, iscinin cekic ile pozu, silüet. Tebrik ve tesekkürler. (Bazi harfleri bigisayarimda yapamiyorum, özür dilerim).

18 Eylül'de Istanbul'dan Venedik'e bir vapur seyahati yapmak üzere Istanbul'da bulunucagim. (Vapurda konferans vericegim). Bir gün evvel 17 Eylül, Pazartesi günü Istanbul Universitesi'nde bir konferans vericegim. Gelebilirseniz memnun olurum.
