The Circus came to town, a photo from Ashqelon, Southern

Photographer's Note

View from the height of the hill where the Ashdod Theatre is located, a circus came to town, and its white & red giant tent caught most attention here.
Also, looking to far right, there is the local marina, and the seashores stretch on both north and south directions.
The “wings” statue in the middle of the round-about can be seen on this picture from 2010 at ground level, located on the map at: 31.7923, 34.6342 .

Ashdod is a relatively young town, and this area constantly being built with many new dwelling towers.

Hi Ike,the big tent of circus gives a different view from the hill,very big and very elegant too,it's the best "architechture" in this mix of modern buildings close to the sea,i like the decentralized position and the usual excellent quality. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

I understand that Israeli dwelling towers try not to be a continous vertical repetition of an identical pattern as the right one shows us here (while the left one obviously fails). Nice contrast between the more traditional architecture of a tent and the less appealing way to store people as horizontal space is limited in your country.

This is a glorious photograph!
The huge circus tent makes a splendid f/g feature, circular and colourfully patterned. It is well placed in the scene, with two further buildings in the b/g to provide a great composition of three.
The light is bright and the colours are well saturated.

Hi Ike,

The distance between the big tent and the horizon is creating depth. The point of view is showing the details of the tent and of the buildings. The good luminosity is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

funny that you post this one because on Saturday I'll be going to see Cirque du Soleil in Vancouver.

I like the look of the tent bc from this pov it looks even bigger than the large apartment block in the bg haha.
its that false perspective that makes the photo so good. Not to mention the bright light and awesome red/white combo.

The red and white circus tents looks very appealing against the blue sky and sea. BTW, did you know the famous American circus, Barnum & Bailey, closed on May 21, 2017 after 146 years?

Hello Ike,
So what I thought was a tent turns out to be a real tent, and a huge one. It certainly makes a difference to the not so beautifully designed buildings in the vicinity. It also provides a great balance to the blue sky and sea. The warm light is a great bonus to the photo.

Wow, that is quite a large circus tent. You included it very well on the left hand side of the composition and I like the combination with the blocks of flats on both sides. It also stands out from the seascape and the blue sky further in the background. Great work with good exposure.

Aha So that's what the red & white structure was in the previous upload! It contrasts well with the blue sea & sky to give a spectacular warm cold color contrast. Good sharpness and the sail structures look as though they too would make a good close up shot. Tfs!

Ike, a red and white giant tent houses the circus. It is established on the seashore near a roundabout. Some brandnew buildings appear in the bg. Fine colors, good sharpness, instructive photo note, regards.
