Photographer's Note

A re-visit to the Ashdod Performing Arts Center.
The main entrance façade of the Theatre.

See its special shaped edifice, an imaginary big whale or maybe a ship, which is just as shown on my previous photo on the same place, from 2010 picture, that was taken before it was inaugurated in 2012.

The building on left is a local pedagogical-center.

Located up the small hill 31.7926, 34.6364 on the map.

A RAW converted into JPEG, cropped both upper and lower parts.

Hello Ike,
A well balanced composition ideally suited to the panoramic frame; the yellow lamps provide a good lead-line' drawing the viewer towards the principal subject. Good light management assures fine colours and good clarity.

Hello Ike,
The older photo shows the peculiar shape of the arts centre better, but we still see that it's a quite special building. The long line of yellow lamps and blue flags, as well as the patterns on the ground, give the view nice depth. The building to the left may not be as spectacular but also has a rather appealing design.

really glad you added in the other photo from 2010, so thats this building here??? what a difference it makes taking the photo on the side. I would never think it looks like a whale from this straight on pov. Good to see both angles.

Hello Ike,
I really like the differently styled modern building seen here in this photo. The composition is excellent and well-balanced. The yellow lamps add a nice repetitive element too. It's remarkable how empty the street is.

c'è molta differenza tra le architetture di questa foto e quelle della precedente foto, ma il tempo passa e le mode cambiano, oltre a cambiare i materiali e le esigenze.
Ottima presentazione e ottima prospettiva costituita dai lampioni.

Essas luminárias laranjas, além de trazerem cor, tem uma forma muito interessante. Excelentes luz e cores também. O céu tem uma cor muito bonita e as nuvens são detalhes sutis.

Fascinating building with the severe and tight entrance and the flippant curved lines from the side façade in your post from 2010. Also funny you took and posted these pictures 7 years after each other.
The scene could have had some people walking around, now it seems theatre isn’t popular in Israel.

Hello Ike,

In tandem, the two photographs give us an excellent appreciation of the shape and size of this quite unique building. The lampposts, with their blue decorations, and the line patterns in the f/g, all help to guide us smoothly to the frontage of the centre.
The second building, tough not so modern in design, gives a good sense of depth.

A good composition of this part of the city, with this building that looks like an aircraft carrier docked at the dock, undoubtedly an original construction.
A pretty colorful, powering image.

Hi Ike,
what a contrast to the your neighbouring two photos: ancient ruins versus the modern architecture.
Lovely presentation, as usually I like to have some inscriptions in a foreign to me alphabet, it makes it feel quite exotic.
Nice geometry. Very interesting TE contribution.

Ike, that newly built center in Ashdod comprises a pedagogical center, a vast plazza and a theatre. A successful project. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.
