Jubilee sq., Ashdod, a photo from Ashqelon, Southern

Photographer's Note

A morning car tour to the city of Ashdod, the 5th largest in Israel, 40km south to Tel-Aviv along the Mediterranean seashores.

This is the south-most quarter of town, newly erected big yellow "saucer" in large round circle on the main road running parallel to the seashores. The square was inaugurated for the 50th Jubilee year of this young town which was built and emerged from the large dunes in this part of Israel coastal-plains.

Will show the dunes and ancient fort from some 2500 years back in history, in later posts.
Location of the Jubilee-Sq. is 31.7716, 34.6225 on the map.

Hello Ike,
This rather curious piece of street art makes a colourful and eye-catching focal point. It sits well under the pastel blue sky. I like the composition using the repeating lamps as a lead-line towards the 'saucer'.

The yellow saucer provides a wonderful warm cold color contrast against the bg blue sky. Good sharpness & I like the repetition of the street lights. Tfs!

I like this huge yellow saucers/disk/umbrella/parasol/UFU etc. It is really a statement to erect the eye-catching element in this position.
Excellent picture and a good wider view in the workshop.

What a big yellow parabola, it seem or the parabola stands in the sea.
You chose a very nice angle, this create depth and perspective.
The blue sky care for lovely soft contrast.

C'est très impressionnant cette structure jaune au bout de la rue sur le bord de la mer. Les lampadaires qui forment une ligne de fuite qui pousse directement vers la chose.

Hello Ike,

I thought you had captured the sun, which would explain all the rain we have been experiencing!!
It is a splendid piece of art to liven the spirit with its huge bright surface.
You have chosen a good aspect for the photograph so that the trees and the streetlights lead us naturally to the focal point, which is strongly positioned in the frame.
The cars help us to understand the huge scale.

Very good composition with the perspective of the road by the sea and the beautiful blue of the same, that great yellow saucer is undoubtedly the point of attraction of the photo, I do not know very well the object of the same, if it is a great sculpture or has some use.
Colorful, sharp and bright are captured excellently.

Wow, what great and very eye-catching work of art there at the end of the road. Its yellow is so bright which looks nice against the pale blue sky. The road and the row of lampposts lead the eye nicely into the composition.

The road leads my eye toward the yellow saucer which is creating depth. The point of view is showing the details of the saucer. The light is giving good colors output. Have a nice day.

Ike, nice view of the green space located on the seashore. That yellow saucer looks strange, it was placed here for decorative purpose. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Hello Ike,
I was surprised to discover I hadn't already commented on this photo. The bright yellow and black saucer would be the kind of object I would immediately notice and appreciate. It is very eye-catching, to say the least, but the trees on both sides and the row of tall and quite elegant lamp-poles also contribute to a successful composition.
