Photographer's Note

The Bahai Shrine and its gardens is one of the most beautiful places in Haifa. This picture has been taken in the eve of Israel's 59th Independence Day.
Some facts about this site:
Most of the exterior is Italian marble with the pillars made of pink granite.
The dome is cladded with 14,000 handmade golden bricks imported from the Netherlands.
Located midway in the 19 terraced gardens, called 'The 19 steps', with nine above and nine below it.
The base of the dome has nine sides, symbolizing for the Bahai faith the unity of the great nine world religions.
The temple is also called 'The Shrine of the Bab' as it is the burial place of Bab (Siyyid 'Ali-Muhammad), Forerunner of Baha'u'llah, the Founder of the Baha'i religion, is buried in the golden-domed mausoleum.
