Photographer's Note

this time, I want to tell you about an ancient persian tradition.(700 B.C.)
In ancient times, the elements of water, air, fire & soil considered sacred & shouldn't be polluted. so the people didn't bury the body for it impurified the soil & they put the body in a high location for birds & beasts to eat the flesh( they fastened the body to the stone so the beasts couldn't cut off the bones). the bones became "incontaminated" by the sun. Then they cleaned the bones & put them in a big stone box.Afterthat, they put this "box" in a place called " Osdan " or " Ostudan " ( where u see in the cliff )for not touching the soil.these special tombs where in-accessible ( the architects would cut the stairs after finishng the tomb).
age of built : 518 B.C.

Mostly, these tombs ( belonging to the kings) :
- were high in the mountain ( in a vertical part)
- had the facade in the form of a cross ( this is a very ancient persian symbol)
- this facade had the engravingsof king, the nations, the colomns, the court in detail
