Photographer's Note
Another picture taken at the Lanark Mediaeval Festival held at Lanark racecourse last weekend.
After Gunnar's (saxo042) interesting observations on my last posting, I am uploading this one for him.
I presume that the group of people who re-enacted these battles do a lot of research and try to make the scenes as authentic as possible. Gunnar tells me it is nice to see "Vikings" without horns on their helmets - apparently the real Vikings never had such adornments.
Shot in RAW and converted and edited in PSE6.

John Hi:
Amazing colors and detail with excellent clarity. It takes a big man to support that armor and that gentleman is large. Very interesting educational series, John, Congratulations, very well done, my friend.

i have a 100 or so viking photos as well. the local reenactment group from the west midlands did a weekend near to us, very authentic with battles markets even a Saxon barn decked out,so i have my coins and Thor amulets have you. i knew about the helmets, horns I've only seen in york in a bizarre street comedy act as a promotion weekend for the yorvik museum. ever been there its great. nice pose in your photo by the way.
cheers

Thank you John!
I really appreciate this picture and dedication! Furthermore, the colours are very good and also the sharpness. But the real vikings look quite different, as you probably remember!
I have also seen the viking museum at York, very interesting. But the most interesting museum is the one at Bygdöy in Oslo, with genuine viking ships!
Greetings from another viking:)
Gunnar
