Photographer's Note

Driving from Ambleside to Patterdale over the Kirkstone Pass, we decided to stop at the famous Kirkstone Pass Inn for some refreshments. Unfortunately the inn was closed for refurbishment, but from the carpark, the view back towards Ambleside and Lake Windermere was a wonder to behold.
There was a hint of mist over the lake and the distant hills, and the narrow road looked like a river of glistening mercury as it made it's way across the hillside.
I used an ND grad filter to retain the evening colours in the sky, and under-exposed the shot by 0.7 of a stop to ensure that maximum highlight detail was retained.
Let me know what you think, good or bad. I won't be offended.
Happy New Year everyone!
