Photographer's Note

Hey you, out there in the cold
Getting lonely, getting old
Can you feel me
Hey you, standing in the aisle
With itchy feet and fading smile
Can you feel me
Hey you, don't help them to bury the light
Don't give in without a fight

Hey you, out there on your own
Sitting naked by the phone
Would you touch me
Hey you, with your ear against the wall
Waiting for someone to call out
Would you touch me
Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone
Open your heart, I'm coming home

ARTIST: Pink Floyd. TITLE: Hey You

If you know or like this song and the artists, you will appreciate the note a little more.

By taking this picture, I am trying to capture the emptiness that I sometimes feel going about my daily business in England. We British have a personal boundary with space and emotion...much unlike the Indian culture who are used to living in close quarters with eachother and are not afraid to express themselves through touch and physical closeness. I noticed this espcially whilst travelling on the trains in India, where some young lads were sitting on eachother's laps and had their arms around eachother. Here in the UK, this would just be "too weird!".

Just a thought...
