Photographer's Note
This is the last post in my Angry Sea series. See the first one here
There were a lot of fishermen fishing from the pier that day and there seemed to be an easy camaraderie amongst them. This one though, was totally on his own, lost in his own thoughts. I thought there was a strong contrast between this image and that of yesterday which depicts the togetherness of two individual couples.
I'm not sure how easy it is to catch fish in such rough seas but there were lots of them trying.

Hi kath.
Excelent composition. I like this POV just behind the fisherman with the sea in front of him.
The definitions and the colors are also lovely.

Hi Kath,
Somehow the waves are better defined here than on your previous shots. And the slow action here, I guess it suits me better that surfing or jumping. Well composed and good contrasts.

hi kasia, nice one - stable composition, delictae yet clearly autumn tones and light; just a liuttle crop from the right would do some improvement to this image, which still is very nice and interesting;
plus - my dear, that sea is not THAT angry :-)) you just need to harness it a bit (but is it possible at all?)
best, jerzy

Hello Kath,
I took a look at the map to find Saltburn. At first sight it's located in Scotland ? Am I wrong ? Your picture must have been taken in that big bay, I can see land at the left top... And as you mentioned before, I think you must be really in love with the sea. Again a very attractive picture.
regards,
Luc.

Hi Kath.
Again a very nice shot. The man, the fisherman, against the sea, the wild sea.
The composition is good and the light is really nice (the shadows creates and the colour are good). And the theme... I like very much this theme.

Good morning Kath -
Brrrrrrrr! I can just feel the damp wind and the cold blowing right through me. (Or, maybe it's the snow sitting on the lawn outside my window.) I really don't know what to say about this image. It is kind of static, it is well exposed, but all it says to me is that it is windy and cold. I must be missing something, sorry.
Oh well, keep shooting and sharing.

Bonjour Kath,
Regards.
Daniel.

Hi Kath,
Powerful composition. Like the fishermen lonelyness. The POV is great and the sea coming behind the main subject of the photo has a nice result.
Excelent golden colors (typical from the season). Well sharpened.
Cheers

Hi Kath,
A superb composition with great dynamics produced by your angry, foaming sea. I like the casual pose of the fisherman contrasted with the raging waters and the fishing pole waiting for action. Good shadow effects here enhance. A very successful shot, Kath. One can feel the cold and the wind...

Its a beautifully crisp and bright shot Kath with the sea and the fishermans clothes emphasising how cold it is.What lets it down just a touch for me is that the fishermans pose is rather non descript, were he really huddled against the cold or actually reaching for his rod it could look a touch better

Hello Kath,
A wonderful shot. The composition is excellent with the fishing rod in the middle, the lonely fisherman having a good time even though he might not catch any fish and the really rough sea. I love it. Superb work.
Have a nice week end!

Hi Kath,
This is an excellent shot. Although the lonely person is here for fishing but I guess he is much more attracted to the beautiful view. Beautiful place - one can enjoy fishing and place as well. Nice framing.

Hi Kath. I must say I enjoyed the series and this shot is a great finale. I'm admiring your nice level horizon, something I have more trouble with than you can believe! :) The crashing waves bring good dynamics. A very nice shot and series Kath.

Nice colours, sharpness and POV. Good to see the horizon nice and clear as well. The man's body language looks pretty sad. I hope he didn't jump in!

Hi Kath,
It's a luminous and dynamic composition, I like this contemplative attitude in a "Dolinade" style, the colors are great and exposure is top notch, makes me think about Hemingway's "The old man and the Sea" though this guy does not look so sold...
Have a nice week end,

hi kath, a nice shot here, you got a good position behind the fisherman, as cliffy said though i think a different pose from the fisher might be more photogenic, still nice though, well done, im struggling to find time to get on here at the moment, but still taking shots when i can, trying to extend my portfolio a bit hopefully! think im going to make a calander with my pictures to send to ashley grandma!

Hej Kath,
A very good portrait of this lonely fishermen, sitting apart from the others. You placed him very well in the composition together with some fine shadows and of course again the wild see. Well done!

Hi Kath, I guess one of the reason to fish is to do nothing while "doing something". You have well captured the scene and the enjoyment of the fishing here.
Nice composition and good contrast.

Hi Kath,
Excelent enquadrement and lonely fisherman capture you did. Good composition, with fine light and sharpness. The breaking wave is a must and the blue sea water so well. Splendid sea angle of view and depth perspective. Very good job so well seen and composed.
Congratulations and have a nice weekend.

Hi Kath
If you leave not far from the sea you have a big choice to make good photo compositions at any time with all kinds of weather.
Here the man has a good position in a strong poin of the picture.
Please again and again !
