Bamburgh Sunrise 2, a photo from Northumberland, England

Photographer's Note

Taken on the same occasion as two of my earlier photos (click here or here) this shot shows Bamburgh Castle on the Northumberland coast, taken shortly after sunrise on an August morning.

Here I've used the curving lines of the seaweed in the foreground to lead the eye up to the castle. A polariser and 81b warm-up filter have been used to improve the colours, and a Neutral Density (grey) Grad to stop the sky burning out.

Spetacular shot of this stunning castle a little bit more reflection of the castle would have made this a classic

Une superbe prise avec un très bon pov et un excellent cadrage.
J'aime beaucoup ce premier plan a vec ce vert saturé et cette très bonne dof.
Belle gestion de la lumière.

Oh lordy. Too perfect, James. Of the three castle shots (this one and the too you cite), this is the one where my imagination enters the shot. The castle at dawn is lovely, but a pretty postcard shot. The one with the sand dunes is fascinating, excellent composition.

But THIS one invites me into the photo, and is the one I'd chose to put on my wall somewhere.
