Photographer's Note
Angel Wings
I managed to get off three single shots before the swan came alongside me, when I got a fourth, and another as it came to land a little way beyond. The fifth one has little or no merit and has already hit the bin but the other three – starting with this one, are worth sharing. In fact the middle one is not dissimilar from the full frame version of this one so I’ll put it in the workshop for tomorrow.
It really pays off to catch this early morning sun – this must have been around 6 – 6.30 a.m. and as you can see the mill pond like reflection had a nice intensity. If you remember this series started with the river at Mountsorrel, a village along the valley where I once lived. I recently caught another early morning opportunity there too. This return to more active photography is giving me a new lease of life!
Full frame in workshop again. What do people think of the oblique or vertical argument for the reflections?

what am i to say kev? splendid work, although imho the previous one was more successful, mainly due to the background - clean, undisturbing, plain;
anyhow, this one i like too;
have a nice week, jerzy

Hi Kev,
A fine result for your early wake up. The reflections are very nice. So is the movement of the swan doing his morning exercises. I like the frame too. CU, Erik

Great capture. especially like the building's refelction here... makes it quite unusual (you'd expect to see something green)

Great pic Kev.
I like the reflection which create the X sign. The only thing that bothers me a bit, is that it is not perfectly centered. If it was, it is definetally would have been the perfect photo.
Great work though, way to go!!!
Thanks,
Ori

Hi Kev,
This one is more graphic, more catchy because of this "X" stuff..lol. i quite like that hint of the brown colour here as a reflection.. But the other one speaks to me more somehow..
Still, i really like this one too.. (maybe its silly to compare, they are apparently different images..)
Great series,
bw.

Hi Kev.
Splendid.
Difficult to say something else when you look at so much beauty.
You were at the right place at the right time and make the most of it.
I can only guess the level of excitation you were when you downloaded these pictures on the computer.

Hi Kev
Spectacular take-off. You got it perfectly onto a picture. Such sharpness and clarity and the reflections are the proof to it.
Welldone, Kev.

Hello Kev,
This is an extraordinary shot, and I am sure that you have underexposed a little for a better exposure: Early morning pay off indeed and youı have succeeeded so well in catching the wings at their best.
Just arrived from Moscow, I let you know soon about what I did: I wish you a nice week - - Izzet

Shall I add on here what a good shot this is? I shall! And the reflections improve the shot here and give depth. I like the whole series though really.

Excellent catch, Kev, really a decisive moment. I got a glance at your workshop: this one is better in my opinion, because reflection of the other building is too dark.
