A patch of green; a tiny piece of moss that decided to grow on this dead wood.
I liked the textures of the fallen tree as well as the light on the trees in the background.

Hello Jean,
Nature is sometimes an artist, but Nature can also be a comedian. This is a funny photo of the dead tree looking like a seal trying to crawl up a green hill. At least that was my impression when seeing the thumbnail. This was another good observation by you.

Hi Jean,
This is quite an original composition with all natural elements. Somehow I have a difficulty to imagine whether this trunk is hanging in the air or laying on the ground. But it certainly is a wonderful sculpture made by nature.

This is a fine observation of the effects of Nature. The dead tree trunk is obvious host to many different species. I wonder how many insects are within, too!
I like how you have cropped the scene to emphasise the curve of the trunk.

Hello Jean

The emerald green lichen or moss adds a splash of colour to the dead rotting tree. Where the bark has peeled away resembles lapis lazuli or some other semi precious stone. Tfs!

Hello Jean,
This is a very inventive photography using this dead wood to give us an image ... of fantasy !
To me, its look like an eel is trying to wriggle through the grass ... avoiding the others ( dead trees ).
The round green moss , will be the eel's gill :-)
Yeah, you're right about the light on the trees b/g ... adding a bit of mystery in the wood.
I must admit , the composition is spot on. Very well seen.
