Yes, the buttercups are back in abundance in the field near the local school. It feels like the sort of place where a musical should take place ... 'The fields are alive with the sound of music!'

In the f/g, to the left, you will be able to see the route which many school children take, through the field. The buttercups cannot compete with the number of feet travelling across them!

As a w/s, I will show the view in the opposite direction, with the school in view.

Hi Bev,

The length of the field is creating depth. The point of view is showing the details of the yellow flowers and of the houses. The light is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

A lovely landscape presented in a good horizontal composition. The field of buttercups is wonderful and an appealing foreground for the town and the clouds in the blue sky.

Hello Bev,
What a delight that there are still places where children can cross a field on their way to school. I am sure they won't even be hit by a tractor. The buttercups fill the foreground beautifully, and there are probably more of them on the distant slopes, but too far away to be seen. This looks like a very idyllic place, and the panoramic shape suits this view well. The weather was ideal for a good exposure and soft colours.
(But isn't there some profusion of f's in the title?) ;-)

Buttercups are very rare in my country, too hot for those, Beverley, the type we see in high places is the Ranunculus-Asiaticus or better known as Asian buttercup.
Beautiful green field with yellow blossom and the Trawden houses on far side.

The yellow buttercups form a veritable carpe on the horizon. Fantastic sharpness with nice warm cold colour contrasts with the blue patches of sky. The wide angled panoramic crop suits as well. Tfs!

Hello Beverley,
Buttercups are also frequently found in Belgium. Much more than poppies.
Endless spaces fields, meadows and forests around the villages as shown here in the photo is unfortunately another matter.

This is so good an image of the buttercups that it deserves to be on stage alone. The colours add a new layer of depth amidst the green setting and the DOF is great in this where the background separation helps a lot to make it a stand out shot. Great time of year if only we can get some late afternoon or early morning sun.

my wife asked me yesterday..."are buttercups weeds?" I'm not sure...do you know? when I see fields like this, it makes me want to have a dog and let the dog run wild :) love the hills that seemingly go on for infinity. lovely and picturesque ws photo too. cheers

nice views with these yellow flowers in evidence in FG while we have the buildings ahead and the far landscape at the end. a nice explosion of flowers.
today I noticed one of my native orchids were preparing the flowers, but this usually occur only in october.. would be they crazy ? winter is only opening its gates...
