Today I had a pleasure to visit Conisbrough Castle in South Yorkshire. There is not much left of the castle, but I really enjoyed the place. One of the reasons I wanted to go there was that I have never seen a similar tower before. It has quite extraordinary shape.

The fragment of the castle which you see in this photo is called the KEEP. And the photo was taken from its base looking UP. Hence the title “keep up”.

Hello Mariusz, Conisbrough Castle was very close to where I used to live, so I am familiar with it.
I visited but never with a digital camera!
This is a great view, and what a wonderful blue sky.
Thanks for reminding me of a special place.

Indeed, the many corners and sides make the tower very special. There were many options for windows. But there are hardly any. Even just a few embrasures.
Did you go inside this keep? What was inside?
A bit strange with the new stairs. But beautifully taken with their shadows on the wall.

A unique shape of castle edifice, Mariusz.
A recontruct tower with modern stairs case giving an idea how it was meant to be in ancient era for people using the place.

A modern stairway against a very old Castle, this see we not everyday.
But safety has priority.

A great photo and excellent upward POV to show this castle keep. It looks really well maintained and the sharpness shows the details and patterns of the stone walls really well. The sunlight couldn't have been better.

If the keep was the only part of the castle remaining, you chose an excellent viewpoint to make this a very imposing building. The steps guide to a strong point.
I like how the sky gives the impression of making the keep even more dynamic.

in fact this tower is fabulous and unique. and despite the ruins around it looks preserved. I really don't like the stairs, I guess they broke the mood, but I understand people would like to enter in the tower. marvelous view.

Oh man...i'd love to talk a walk around this location, looks like a great place for taking photos. Fun twist on the KEEP UP too. perfect day, nice and bright, blue skies, the stone is well lit...what more could you ask for. I saw the other posts too. cheers
