Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

My photograph shows the iconic, Millennium Bridge, at Salford Quays.

The Salford Quays Millennium footbridge or Salford Quays lift bridge, also known as the Lowry bridge, is a 91.2-metre (299 ft) long vertical lift bridge, spanning the Manchester Ship Canal between Salford and Trafford in Greater Manchester, England. The bridge, which was completed in 2000, is near the terminus of the ship canal at the old Manchester Docks. It links Salford Quays and MediaCityUK to Trafford Wharf and has a lift of 18 metres (59 ft), allowing large watercraft to pass beneath.

The bridge features prominently on the backdrop for the BBC North West Tonight television news programme, which also shows The Lowry and MediaCityUK. - Wikipedia

The bridge is such an iconic feature that I feel duty bound to photograph it on any visit to Salford. On this occasion, I decided to add a bi-colour filter. just to make it look a little more dramatic.

I will add the original as a workshop.

I took this photograph on a mini TE- Get-together, when Len and I met up with Claude, Rob and Annelies. Though the weather was not the best, the company made up for shortfalls in the weather.

We have been promised snowfalls, today, which would temporarily ease the problem of land saturation but, as yet, it is just raining!

I hope the weather is better with you, Bev :-)
