Photographer's Note

Volunteer Point a great place for Penguins

The Falkland Islands is an archipelago in the South Atlantic Ocean on the Patagonian Shelf. The principal islands are about 300 mi east of South America's southern Patagonian coast, and about 752 mi from the northern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula - Territory of the UK.

Relatively flat lands - on the coast is this large colony of Penguins. The fluffy feathered one is a chick or nestling. So fun to be with them - you can walk right up to them - watch them interact, feed their chicks, attract mates, walk 1/4 mile to the sea and while in water search of food.

Wonderful place!!

Great closer view HERE
