Photographer's Note
Shortly after taking this photo, I met our TE friend John Tyro in the little town of Strontian on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. The meeting place was very significant to me, as Ardnamurchan is the home of my maternal grandmother's people, the Clan Cameron.
I was running a little late for the meeting with John and really should not have stopped. But how could anyone resist this beautiful little welcoming committee?

Hello Lisa,
What a coincidence to see this breed of cow two times in one day. Just this morning I received a holiday card from a friend in Scotland, and it showed the same cow playing in snow. :-) He certainly is handsome, and has better hair than many people. I know cows are usually very curious about cameras, and this guy looks very comfortable posing for you. I hope you had a beautiful holiday. :-)

Hi Lisa
Brave lady! you cant resist this fine looking animal - great picture and well done for your courage in front of him standing to attention and demanding to be photographed. How close you must have been, the detailed coat does help alot there and I could do with a hairdo like that but wouldn't like to be on the end of those horns!!
I can tell that you have great eye contact with superb point of focus there, guess he must have yelled "oodatdare" at the sharp shooter. What a great encounter and experience you must have had with this handsome - "cant say handsome" a lovely cow.
Congrats, Have a nice day.
PS: Much appreciation on your comments. I am touched by your kind words, Thanks.
Best wishes

Hello Lisa,
What a great portrait of such a beautiful creature. His long red-brown fur is really gorgeous and he is wearing it in a very trendy fashion. The lighting is excellent as well.

Ciao Lisa,
Il est très beau ce boeuf . J'aime le fait que le vent retrousse son poil de cette manière, ce qui lui donne un petit côté hippie. Beau cadrage serré et très belle netteté d'ensemble.
Amicalement

Hello Lisa
Beautiful portrait of this more and more popular highlander. I often meat some of them when I’m cycling or walking through the dunes in my neighbourhood. Always lazy and friendly
Excellent presentation

Hi Lisa,
Highland cattle is always so charming. Big, furry and gentle. Chewbacca of cows! I like that curious look behind the hair.

Ciao cara Lisa,
Not only is it a fine specimen of a cow but it is turning its head in a most flirtatious way. As you say, how could you resist such a shot!
It's a lovely portrait, the eye strongly placed and the characteristic, shaggy coat of the breed very well defined.
Without a kilt in sight, it's very Scottish!
I wish you and your family a very happy, peaceful New Year,
Bev :-)

Would you look at that - a hairy coo.
I think we all have a mental collection of photographs we never took - too busy, left the camera at home, whatever. My money is on John forgiving you immediately and completely and been grateful of the reminder that at times we still all need to slow down and take the photo.
Great shot of a heiland coo with the sun on its back (according to my Scottish-based family, global warming is bringing them rather milder and nicer weather than I can remember). Nice positioning in the frame and an interesting posture of the cow looking back over its shoulder. A nice shot which makes me a wee bit homesick.
regards, Iain.

Ciao Lisa,
they are so Scottish! as their name also implies!
Very photogenic animals! I think I haven't seen them before moving to the UK.
Fantastic portrait, great details, lovely blurred background.
We had them for a while in our park but they were moved elsewhere.
My little daughter was feeding them with carrots :)
Beautiful work,
M
