Photographer's Note

Spent 8 days in Manchester under wind, drizzle, cold (8°C in the morning and 13°C maximum): a summer to remember!
Note: it was only late spring, summer officially starts on June 21th!!!

A newspaper note:
Britain remains in the grip of an "european monsoon" with near hurricane-force winds and heavy rain set to continue.
Guts of 70 miles per hour, enough to bring down trees and cause property damage, were predicted with the North and south of England told to brace for a deluge today. West Wales was also told to expect 100mm of rain - more than a month's worth.

Floods occured in North Wales
