Photographer's Note

Like a giant birdcage the wrecked West Pier languishes in an early spring sunset over the city of Brighton in East Sussex, England. Opened in 1866 it started to deteriorate in the mid 1970's and was subsequently damaged by the elements and then by two fires in 2003. All that is left now is this sorry looking framework, various debates and plans are ongoing as to whether it will ever be rebuilt……….only time will tell, but somehow sadly I doubt it.
