Photographer's Note
Another picture taken from my wanderings around Mount Snowdon. Some of the lakes in Snowdonia are used for generating hydro electric power. In this area is one of Europe's largest man made caverns created for this purpose.
The pipework shown in this picture is taking water from a nearby lake or reservoir, the energy used from the water flowing down into the valley is used to drive turbines in the hydroelectric power station, and it also provides me with a nice lead in through the scene.

Hi James, Well what can I say? The beauty of nature ruined by man again, I live right next to the lake district & I think people around here would be very angry if cables like that started to crop up, however it's a very interesting picture & overall a fantastic landscape, kind regards Wilson.

Hello James - Another lovely Snowdonian landscape. The light is super; I love the contrast of the bright sunlit areas against the dark shadowed areas - very typical of the Brisith landscape. The pipeline may, in reality, be ugly but here it meanders through the landscape very beautifully giving a great feel for the topography. Nice shot. Best regards Rosemary

Hello James. I have to say all three photos posted from this place are very scenic for landscape photography. I am curious how thick the diameter of that pipe is here. That pipeline does not make this place look the most attractive at all. I would rather see the environmental approach and have the pipe laid underground.

Hello James,
Your photograph produces conflict in my brain. I like the pipe because it acts as a strong lead into your photograph; I dislike the pipe because it is spoiling a wonderful wild, natural countryside!
I can, of course voice my distaste at the vandalism, but can critique your photoographic talents more kindly.
I like the way you have anchored your shot with the f/g hill, producing a fine sense of depth to the rest of the shot. You have composed the ratio of hills to sky nicely and taken great advantage of the light to produce this lovely variety of hues.
Have a great w/e,
Bev :-)
