Photographer's Note

I met this lot while walking along the banks of the Tweed in early morning. They were on their way along the same path but in the opposite direction. I didn't want to scare them back along the path and they didn't want to get any closer. The impasse lasted for a few minutes while some lay down, some tried to eat the wire fence (not renowned for their intelligence) and others stamped their feet threateningly until they let me sneak past on one side. They were however nicely turned out coloured in the pale light and worth a shot.
