Photographer's Note
Please open both photos in new tabs for the better versions and especially the main one.
From the isolated little village of Elgol you can catch a very small ferry across the loch to Skye's most rugged area - The Cuillin Ranges which come right to the waters edge. They drop you there in the morning and pick you up again in the afternoon so you really want a fine day which is what we were lucky enough to have.
We were dropped at the opening to a small valley. Some people use the ferry for dropping off for serious walks.
Both photos were taken on the ferry with the main one showing the mountain range and the other a lonely waterfront house.
In the small version the main photo appears to have a blue colour cast but it is less so in the large version. I think that the problem is the very blue sky above and water below.

Hello Ian
Beautiful view of this mountain range. I saw the opposite of you in the bigger view, but blue is still the dominant color. With respect ...

Hi Ian,
I did notice the color cast indeed, the contribution of the red is higher than green. I do struggle with that balance a lot and I think there is a chance that TrekErath somehow disturbs the balanace as well similarly to the sharpness level.
But it could be also different computer screens used by different people.
The lundscape is stunning with quite high appearing mountains next to the water level. It feels like Norway. The clouds are so decorative,
M

Hello Ian,
I think the blueish cast remains in the larger version, so for that reason I prefer the WS, which also has the advantage of the small cottage. The steep mountains seen in the main photo are no less impressive despite the colour cast.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Ian,
Your photograph, though beautiful in composition and clarity, does have a blue colour cast. I have done a little w/s, with an explanation, which is very easy to undertake.
Your w/s is quite amazing, showing the scale and the steepness of the mountainside against the tiny loch-side cottage.
Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)

Hi Ian,
The scenery is impressive. The point of view is showing the details of the mountains. The light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Ian,
Whoever lives in the house we see in WS1 should certainly never complain about neighbour noise.
Impressive deserted landscapes.

Hello Ian, As Bev noticed, there is a bit of the colour cast in this picture. But the view of the mountains and the lake is stunning. Perhaps I like the Workshop picture even more, with the amazing view of the tiny lone house under the big mountain.
Best regards MAlgo

Hello Ian.
Splendid mountain landscape, this one that rises in the foreground next to the lake is imposing and has an authentic volcano shape.
Sometimes this blue cast happens to me in the photos, but the image of the WS with the correction is perfect.
Excellent brightness and sharpness.
Good job. I love the photo.
Have a good week.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hi Ian,
It certainly is a rugged and lonely landscape. Excellent sharpness and composition. The blue cast in the photo might be due to the white balance setting on your camera. Sometimes automatic white balance gives an unsatisfactory result. Sometimes I forget to change it from the cloudy to sunny setting, or vice versa, and get a strange colour cast. But software can fix that problem, as Bev's workshop shows.

Hello Ian
I suppose you could have used a blue skylight and uv filter but it's easy enough to just add 5% yellow in photoshop. Impressive mountain scenery with good sharpness. Tfs!

Hello Ian,
Did you take this from behind a glass pane? The colors seem to be off. I like Bev's correction. I like the Bonus Photo even better.
Regards,
MT
