Photographer's Note

Edinburgh, my favourite city on the planet...not that i've seen all of them :-)

This image was taken from the top of the Royal Mile looking down a lane leading to Victoria Street. This is a lovely part of town, great for walking around.

Except for the tacky tourist shops. Full of tartan tammies, ginger wigs and tartan drummer dolls in plastic tubes stamped 'Made in China'.

Here is one of those shops which, to me, ruins a beautiful part of town.

Cobbled Streets, Victorian gaslamps, stunning architecture - and tourist tat. It is a disgrace.
