Photographer's Note

This sundial honours the fishermen of Cockenzie, a small village on the shores of the Firth of Forth. It was carved for the community by resident Gardner Molloy - his website shows the variety and quality of his work in East Lothian, and in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Fife, etc.

Zoom was used, and this portion was cropped from the large picture which shows the whole garden and the sea across to Fife. Contrast was slightly increased and slight sharpening used on the flat surface of the 'boat'. I have another shot showing a wave apparently breaking at the prow of the boat, but decided it looks too contrived. It was a really stormy day, and the white 'seahorses' were racing down the firth.
