Photographer's Note

Herd Groyne lighthouse sits on a small groyne at what was once the mouth of the River Tyne in North-East England. The lighthouse was built in 1882 and is still used as a navigation aid to shipping entering and leaving the Tyne.

Taken just before an extremely heavy storm hit the area.
