I guess that what they mean by "surf's up"... Fantastic capture well conveying the power of the waves with excellent composition and light balance.

I like the colors palette you captured here and the tower looking like it was built of foaming water. this could be an illustration to so many stories, from fairy tales to sf.
btw: I think that this great shot deserves better framing

What a heavy water, a great action-shot of the sea, very nice with this wall in good light

This is a very powerful nature photograph. There is tension and movement. The vertical orientation of the frame (perhaps a crop issue) helps in obtaining a well balanced photograph, all the elements (waves, pier, lighthouse) being perfectly disposed.
This could come out also as a very good B&W photograph IMO, which would add a dramatic atmosphere to the scenery. I like the contrast between the waves on the foreground and the (apparent) resteful sea we can see in the background.

Great waves! Good composition.
Tried to do a WS, I prefer the colors of the new version, but also like the atmosphere created by the colors in the original (which might reflect better the spirit of the place)

Hi Ken, you capture an impressive moment here, the waves are beautiful and the wall looks great and very strong, like Gal says, tension and movement.
It's a real greta moment!

Flippin' 'eck! Did you get wet?
Great image. If my eyes are working today, it seems the lighthouse a little out of focus to me, but then again not the kinda place you wanna hang around to get that perfect picture.
Nice one Geordie chap.

Fantastic! The highlights on the waves give them such depth. The perspective you shot it from is very effective, too, as the wall leads our eyes to that precariously-placed lighthouse. I can't imagine being in that tower with the waves beating against it like that. For that matter, I can't imagine what goes into building something like that in the powerful sea.

Good capture. Seas like this are special in my book. Like to see those breaking waves. Likely too cold to surf though? TFS.
