Photographer's Note

after spending the winter on dry land, being repaired these crab and lobster pots are now ready for the new season and within the next couple of weeks or so will be taken out to sea to start fishing for Whitby crab`s and lobsters.
Whitby like other places around the coast have a "notched lobster" fishing quota system up and running that is female lobsters when caught have a "v" nick put in there tails and are then thrown back to breed thus conserving stocks a notched lobster cannot be landed during the breeding season.
i desurated the background because it was a typical winter yorkshire day grey skies etc
