Photographer's Note

We are celebrating variety of occasions on TrekEarth, so why not this one? I am not sure whether you are aware of it, but the 4th of May is considered by passionate Star Wars fans as a “Star Wars Day”. One of the most important phrases, a greeting used by Jedi Knights, says “May the force be with you!”. “May the 4th“ is pronounced quite similarly to “May the force”. My colleague from work got married on that day and everybody kept asking her whether she chose the date because she is a Star Wars fan.

This photo presents one of the numerous waterfalls in Swaledale. It is called Kisdon Force. As already mentioned before, the waterfalls in this area are called "forces" after the Norse word foss, meaning waterfall. I have already presented this waterfall but from quite a different angle, here:
I have a good version with the long time exposure from this POV, but for a change I decided to show you a very fast capture taken with 1/1000th of second here, as opposed to 1/10th of seconds in previous waterfall photos.

May the force be with you!
