Photographer's Note

I always like to include a national flag in a photo. In North East England I do not see much of the British flag (called Union Jack). Occasionally rather the flag of England which is red cross on the white background. Even more often I see a flag with English Heritage symbol set on a tower of a castle. As if this photo was not colourful enough, I was happy to include here the colourful flag of the United Kingdom. I have recently heard some controversial comments about the flag somebody said, “there is no black in Union Jack”, quite a strange thing to say, I am not going to comment on that. Will Union Jack become a thing of the past though? It does symbolise the union of England and Scotland.
