Photographer's Note

On the top of Malham Cove are a series of unusual limestone formations which are called "Clints & Grikes" The Clints being the tops of the rock and the Grikes the mini crevasses worn into them over the Millenia by weather. These Grikes are home to fascinating plant life which normally wouldn't thrive in such an exposed site.
In this photo I have taken all the colour out except for the plant in the "Grike" in order to emphasize it. I also gave the picture slightly more contrast than normal to bring out the markings in the limestone.
