Photographer's Note

My earlier photo of the seaside resort of Hunstanton out of season showed some breakwaters in the distance. Evie asked me about their construction so I decided to post a close-up of one since "a picture is worth a thousand words".

Some breakwaters are just concrete walls but others, like the one here, are made of wood. They reduce the force of the tidal water so that it doesn't wash the sand away.
