Photographer's Note
Yesterday the comedy shot, today the horror... apologies to any arachnophobes out there, but presumably they'd avoid opening this.. :)
This was so hard to take, the camera, being autofocus kept insisting I wanted to focus on the background, so in the end I had to prefocus on a leaf close by and hope that the spider was in the same range when I recomposed the shot, oh for manual focussing.

I'm not afraid, but this picture did give me a short shake when I opened it. That's a really pretty spider. I like this especially for TE, because there aren't spiders like this here in California. Good job working around your autofocus shortfalls.

Definitely going to the dark side of the force, but this is again a great shot,Mike. The way the light comes on the spider, the background is very appropriate : not distracting and with the shades, not dull. Good work!

Great. Transforming something ugly like a spider (zebra spider ?) in womething wonderful to look at is really something not everybody can do. It is also well framed and the colors are nice and soft.

wow! that's a lovely shot - the colours and light are superb. shame about the autofocus problem - your leaf was just a little off.
